APOBEC gene family

Giving unique and meaningful names to every human gene

We are currently reviewing the gene nomenclature for all of the APOBEC and associated genes (ACF, AICDA, APOBEC1, APOBEC2, APOBEC3A-H, and APOBEC4). We intend to begin a community consultation on the possible ways forward with this family, and ultimately for researchers in the field to decide a nomenclature that is both acceptable to them and follows our guidelines.
