We provide three outputs, 'Core data', 'Core Data by Chromosome' and 'All Data', and provide access to a web based tool for generating Custom Downloads. If you have any problems with these services please email us at hgnc@genenames.org.
We may in future increase the number of fields returned by the 'Core Data' and 'All Data' outputs. If you are processing the data by script and therefore the layout of the data is important, bookmark the output page, since the URL encodes the layout. Failing that, the output can be easily recreated using the Custom Download page.
Commercial Users please read this information before using any of our downloads.
The column headings for the Core Dataset are:-
| HGNC ID | Approved Symbol | Approved Name | Status | Previous Symbols |
| Previous Names | Aliases | Chromosome | Accession Numbers | RefSeq IDs |
These data are available in either HTML or Text format.
These files are chromosome-specific subsets of the Core Data. 'Reserved' indicates symbols we have not associated with a chromosome location.
