Gene Family: M1 metallopeptidases

M1 metallopeptidases: These genes encode zinc dependent metallopeptidases in which two of the zinc ligands are histidines in a 'HEXXH' motif. The M1 family contains exopeptidases that act at the free N-terminus of polypeptides. [Source: MEROPS database, Rawlings et al]
